Literature Text

'This game of mine is such good fun,
though perhaps not to everyone.'
Said one young girl to her bunny.
'I always play it before tea!'

'I find a man and dance him 'round,
and swim inside his eyes,
and catch his heart within his chest,
much to his own surprise!'

The little rabbit twitched and spoke
(though stuffed, rather nervous was he),
'then what, dear girl, do you propose
should they all fall for thee?'

The girl tossed back her flaxen hair
scoffing, triumphant, cried,
'well, every man that I have loved
has withered up and died!'
Another in the series of my seven deadly sins poems. This one is dedicated to Lust. I chose a Carroll-esque poem (such as 'You are old, Father William', or the more ominous and befitting 'Jabberwock') to disarm readers of the...disturbing...subject being spoken of. Let me know how you think I did!

Please enjoy!
